Many a times, I hear people ask: Why does Spyware and Adware affect internet users?

Well, the answer is very obvious. But if you still need some more education on that, I have listed out the major effects of spyware and adware on your computer as an internet surfer. The list could be endless considering the fact that there are many different spyware and adware files or components running around all over the place nowadays. You may be aware of some of these but you may not know the problems they can cause or how they might get into your computer systems. You might not even know that there are so many of them out there, but unless you are researching these you may not have even heard of some of them.

So let me inform you just a little bit on several of these:

• All information you enter via the web can be intercepted
• Unauthorized sites can add themselves to your desktop (as icons)
• Unauthorized sites can add themselves to your internet favorites
• Your browsing activity can be tracked and monitored
• Unwanted toolbars and search bars can attach themselves to your browser without your knowledge or approval
• Your personal information can be sold to other parties without your knowledge or consent
• Your default homepage and settings can be hijacked so you can’t change them
• These malicious components not only invade your PC so they can not be removed, but take up your hard drive space and slow down your PC!
• By the time you start avoiding the above, you are on your way to blocking and removing spyware and adware from your PC.
